Tahoe Forest Hospital Districts policy is to institutionalize Supplier Diversity in contracting and procurement initiatives within the District to promote, increase, and improve the participation of minority, women, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT), and disabled veteran business enterprises (Health Safety Code Sections 1339.85 through 1339.87). |
Materials Management uses Premier purchasing group's contracting database, which allows for identification of supplier diversity status. Materials Management, Pharmacy and Nutritional Services purchase the majority of supplies through distribution contracts from national distributors. |
As a member of Premier we have the ability to research specific categories of supplies and associated suppliers. |
Identification of certified suppliers for items outside Premier is handled on a case by case basis. |
Tahoe Forest Hospital District does not require certification for purchases made outside Premier Purchasing Group. |

Temecula Valley Hospital works to foster an environment of inclusion and accessibility. Our goal is to work with regional and local diverse suppliers who can meet our business needs, create value, and provide competitively priced products and program offerings. The sourcing function is encouraged and supported to include diverse suppliers demonstrating the above defined criteria to participate in regional and local Request For Proposal (RFP) processes. Every level of employee is encouraged to be inclusive in their day-to-day decisions when selecting the best supplier to meet business needs. |
We consistently strive to provide the best care possible to our patients and our community. Our engagement of the above mentioned groups is achieved by relying upon our very diverse community to seek out and obtain these partnerships. Through sourcing locally, when possible, we have the ability to support vendors and equitably support the above mentioned enterprises. |
We encourage by soliciting feedback from our teams when we seek out new suppliers. Our workforce is very diverse and we communicate to them so they may refer quality candidates and suppliers to us, so we have the ability to invest in and support the communities that we serve. |
Through partnership with our local Chamber of Commerce, governmental agencies and a very robust social media presence we are able to reach community members form every walk of life. Through these outlets we make needs known and ask for recommendations from local agencies that can help these very diverse populations businesses grow and flourish through partnerships with our organization. |
Temecula Valley Hospital seeks out community events in which we are able to participate and support these groups. One such enterprise is Habitat For Humanity which allowed a group of employees to support elderly (mostly women), disabled, and veterans through minor home repair activities. We actively support, participate, and donate to events that promote the health and wellbeing of our community which includes these business enterprises. |

Tenet Healthcare is an equity member of HealthTrust Group Purchasing Organization. As an equity member, and considering the vast majority of Tenet's product procurement, and a large portion of purchased service procurement are performed utilizing HealthTrust contracted vendors, Tenet supports and leverages HealthTrust's Supplier Diversity Program.
The HealthTrust Supplier Diversity Program is primarily focused on building relationships with and seeking contractual opportunities for minority-owned businesses, women-owned businesses, veteran-owned small businesses and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses whose ownership is certified, respectively, by the National Minority Supplier Development Council, the Women's Business Enterprise National Council, and/or the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
Most vendor selections, including sourcing and procurement activities, are performed at the system-level, with minimal hospital-level sourcing, contracting and purchasing activities. |
Diverse suppliers are identified to compete for awards in a variety of ways. HealthTrust reviews Prospective Supplier Profiles (PSP) submitted via its website, and attend local, regional and national trade shows held by various advocacy groups. Diverse suppliers are also referred to HealthTrust by members, employees and other suppliers.
As part of the Supplier Diversity Program, a Supplier Diversity Council was created in 2019. The mission of the Council is to ensure HealthTrust and its members maximize their supplier diversity initiatives by developing industry best practices and promoting diverse supplier opportunities thereby strengthening the bond between our members and the communities they serve. The goals of the Council are to 1) Establish supplier diversity best practices within HealthTrust and its members 2) Communicate and identify diverse supplier sourcing opportunities; 3) Align HealthTrusts diversity goals with our members; and 4) Increase utilization of diverse suppliers within members supply chain. The Council meets monthly to discuss opportunities and objectives. |
Vendor selection decisions are made at the corporate level during the Sourcing activities, with Procurement executing purchases with those selected vendors. |

The health of our community has been a top priority for Torrance Memorial Medical Center for more than 90 years. Leveraging our purchasing activities, to directly invest in our local small and diverse owned business community, will not only positively impact our local economy but will enable us an opportunity to positively impact the upstream determinants of the health equity of our local small and diverse business community.
Torrance Memorial Medical Center is part of the Cedars-Sinai Health System (CSHS), and therefore operates in alignment with CSHSs Supplier Diversity Policy Statement. Cedars-Sinai Health System is excited to share that it has recently onboarded an internal resource who is allocated 100% to the creation, implementation, and management of CSHS Supplier Diversity Program and related efforts. Below is the newly created CSHS, Supplier Diversity Policy Statement that will help drive the CSHS Supplier Diversity Programs framework:
Cedars-Sinai Health Systems commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion extends beyond our walls and into the communities where we live and work, and we are committed to working with small and diverse owned businesses. We make every effort to be inclusive of all businesses regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, military and/or veteran status or any other basis protected by federal and state law. We believe the sum of this diversity enables us to successfully achieve our mission of connection and community outreach -For All, By All.
Further-more, Cedars-Sinai Health System recognizes the competitive advantage that supplier diversity brings to our supply base and the strength it provides to the communities and economy in which we operate. Our program ultimately aims to enable the growth and success of diverse owned businesses and is committed to respect and integrity for all.
Our Supplier Diversity Program strives to:
? Foster an inclusive procurement process by providing all Cedars-Sinai Health System personnel, who are involved in the acquisition and use of goods and services, adequate tools and training to enhance their understanding of and ability to meet Cedars-Sinai Health System supplier diversity goals and objectives.
? Work to ensure that certified businesses are provided the maximum opportunity to compete for business opportunities as a supplier or contractor for goods and services provided throughout the hospital system.
? Encourage second tier spend reporting by our prime suppliers and seek a pledge to reinforce second tier supplier diversity reporting.
? Establish reasonable and attainable goals consistent with Cedars-Sinai Health System policies and practices to measure and report our success.
? Empower diverse owned businesses with the provision of information and guidance, via various communication and outreach engagements, regarding the process of how to participate in our Supplier Diversity Program.
Our program will assist diverse owned businesses through the following focus areas:
? Development of Diverse Owned Businesses: Offer channels to technical assistance and capacity building workshops to prepare diverse owned businesses to do business with Cedars-Sinai Health System.
? Outreach to Diverse Owned Businesses: Actively seek diverse suppliers through involvement with external community business organizations and participate in industry trade shows and events.
? Inclusion of Diverse Owned Businesses: Facilitate internal programs, and introductions to key stakeholders, to promote awareness and inclusion of diverse owned businesses in sourcing and procurement opportunities.
Cedars-Sinai also complies with Assembly Bill 962 per the requirements set forth by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. All Supplier Diversity related efforts will be documented per the reporting requirements included in Assembly Bill 962. |
As mentioned above, the CSHS Supplier Diversity Program will focus on three key areas to maximize our efforts of encouraging and seeking out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers. The three areas are Supplier Inclusion, Supplier Development, and Supplier Outreach.
Supplier Inclusion will include the facilitation and utilization of diverse owned businesses through the establishment of internal supplier diversity spend goals, spend analytics and strategic procurement practices, at both the prime and subcontractor level.
Supplier Development will include offering and sponsoring of various capacity building and technical assistance workshops to help to support the growth and development of diverse owned businesses. These engagements will also allow for the opportunity for CSHS to share information regarding our upcoming procurement opportunities so that suppliers could prepare accordingly.
Finally, our Supplier Outreach focus will be comprised of building strategic and productive partnerships with key external business-based organizations and advocacy partners to expand our supplier reach, help source qualified diverse owned businesses and ultimately achieve our program mission. |
In addition to the recently onboarded internal resource who is allocated 100% to CSHS Supplier Diversity Program, weve also been working on aggregating the necessary health system spend data and building the respective analytical tools and solutions that will enable us to measure, track and report on our various Supplier Diversity Program efforts and diversity spend categories. These efforts and solutions will compliment the participation that our procurement employees will play in the onboarding and utilization of diverse suppliers.
Additional plans for the near future include the requirement that all employees, involved with procurement responsibilities, complete an online training course to help drive the awareness of our new Supplier Diversity Program, initiatives, efforts, and expectations of them.
To also help ensure adherence to CSHS Supplier Diversity Program, longer term plans include the modification/creation of current procurement policies and procedures to incorporate Supplier Diversity Program specific procurement practices. |
Supplier Outreach is one of the key focus areas of CSHS Supplier Diversity Program. We plan to utilize our strategic partnerships with external business-based organizations and advocacy partners to participate in various exhibitor fairs, town halls, business symposiums, webinars, panel discussions, and workshops in our efforts of connecting to the diverse owned business community. |
We directly sponsor and partner with a number of community organizations supporting these diversity categories. |

Tri-City Healthcare District's (TCHD) purchasing practices are designed to provide equal access and opportunity to all suppliers and prohibit discriminatory
business relationships. It is the aim of TCHD to provide all segments of our District, to include minorities, women owned, LGBTQ+, and Disabled Veteran
status with a full, fair and meaningful opportunity to participate in our contracts. TCHD encourages and supports the participation of diverse businesses that
can successfully compete for prime or
sub-contracting opportunities. It is our policy to prefer to use a qualified diverse supplier whenever one is both available and able to meet TCHD's business
terms and pricing. |
TCHD has a very active engagement with the community through sponsored events and participating on Boards and Councils. Opportunities for upcoming
projects and contracts are shared and participation is encouraged for all businesses especially within our District. TCHD also maintains a Corporate Council
where local businesses within the District are able to participate. |
TCHD prefers to first use suppliers that have committed to belonging to and contracting with our Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) Vizient and Captis
as these vendors have already been screened and bid requirements have been met. If there isn't a GPO contract/supplier that meets our requirements, then
our next action is to look for vendors providing those services and/or supplies locally. With our diverse community, often times there are vendors that fall into
this "minority" category. |
As previously stated, TCHD is vastly involved with the community we serve. We host events, and belong to numerous organizations and councils. We also
have a very active Facebook and internet website which keeps the community informed and fields any inquiries, questions, concerns and opportunities. We
always encourage our community to follow and monitor both of those media avenues. |
