At Oak Valley Hospital District, we believe our suppliers, like our employees, should reflect the communities we serve.
We proactively seek diverse suppliers. To support our community, we must include the broadest range of people, ideas, products and services possible. Our Vendor Diversity program does just that. We do everything we can to ensure that the diversity-owned businesses are afforded equal opportunity to participate in our procurement process. Please let us know if you qualify as a diverse supplier. |
Many of our purchases are limited t companies that participate in our group purchasing organization, which often has the lowest prices for our organization. We are requesting lists for potential diverse suppliers for organization that provide them,
such as the National Veterans Business Development Council, the National Minority Supplier Council, the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Women Business Enterprise National Council, The US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. We will invite organizations from the lists to bid on suppling items to us. |

As a small stand alone District Hospital is often hard to get competitive bids without going through our group purchasing organization. Through our group purchasing organization we try to use as many minority, women, LGBT and disabled veteran we can. We also support those groups at our local area retailers if possible. Our hospital also educates staff members on LGBT, minority, disabled veterans, etc. |

Maintain procurement guidelines for the use of diverse suppliers/vendors to be used by all employees responsible for purchasing. It is our policy to prefer to use a qualified diverse supplier whenever one is both available and able to meet our business terms and conditions at a competitive price. We are not obligated to use a diverse supplier over others when they are not able to meet the business requirements including pricing. |

Since the founding of our community hospital in 1962, Oroville Hospital has remained committed to enhancing the equitable well-being and quality of life of the exceptional community in which we live and work. Throughout the years, an abundance of thought and intention has gone into cultivating business practices that facilitate an environment where staff, providers, patients and community members feel represented, understood and appreciated.
Some examples of efforts that have been taken, include the methods of which Oroville Hospital abides by when procuring various goods and services from business entities. We understand that as one of the communitys largest organizations, we possess a unique opportunity to support our local suppliers and economy. Thus, we take great consideration to ensure that the following commonly underserved certified business enterprises are utilized whenever possible:
Minority-owned business
Woman-owned business
LGBT-owned business
Disabled Veteran-owned business
In addition to our conscious procurement of goods and services, Oroville Hospital has also taken great consideration to build an environment and staff that is rich in cultural diversity and coincides with the patient base of which we serve. We feel strongly that a great amount of trust and respect is exchanged when individuals share similar backgrounds, experiences, cultures, religion, or other personal attributes. With this, by ensuring a diverse team of care takers, all patients who come to Oroville Hospital can feel confident in knowing that they will be heard, respected and taken care of in the highest regard. |
Oroville Hospital is developing programs to enhance our current supplier diversity
effort in order to align with our belief that a diverse supplier base is essential in
providing our patients and community with the best quality health care possible.
Our initial efforts have been identifying current suppliers and understanding their
diversity. We are evaluating the data collected and reaching out to additional
suppliers to improve our overall supply chain diversity.
The use of diverse suppliers is an integral part of our purchasing procedures. We
believe that the success of the hospital depends upon a diverse supply chain that
provides the highest standards of quality and enables diverse businesses to share and
grow in the market. |
Employees involved in procurement are provided continued education on Oroville
Hospitals supplier diversity policy. We believe that having a diverse supplier base
helps us to better understand and anticipate the needs of our current and future
customers and is essential to our success in the marketplace. That is why we
encompass a broad spectrum of businesses in search of qualified suppliers from all
segments. |
Oroville Hospital has drafted a letter for current and potential business
enterprises in order to promote and provide an opportunity for diverse suppliers to
provide goods and services as a part of our corporate procurement process. Having a
progressive, diverse and inclusive strategy is not only a business imperative at
Oroville Hospital, but it is also a social and ethical responsibility embedded in our
core company values. |
Oroville Hospital is committed to supporting organizations that promote a diverse workforce. In doing so, we have actively reached out to new business enterprises that encompass this to add to our supply chain strategy. We recognize the importance of supporting and ensuring representation of all persons in the community. As one of the largest organizations in Oroville, Oroville Hospital regularly contributes and partners with diverse non-profit organizations that connects those who may be underserved to the assistance they need. In doing so, we are able to help create long lasting relationships that supports the overall community. |
