Existing law allows for an application authorizing the interception of a wire or electronic communication to be made by certain prosecutors to a judge of a superior court. Existing law authorizes the judge to enter an ex parte order authorizing the interception of wire or electronic communications and requires each of those orders to include specific information, including, among other things, the identity of the agency authorized to intercept the communications and of the person making the application.
