Existing law, the Consumers Legal Remedies Act, permits a consumer who suffers damage because of the use or employment by any person of a method, act, or practice declared to be unlawful, as specified, to bring an action against that person to recover, among other things, actual damages and punitive damages. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to subsequently enact legislating relating to consumer protection. |
