<html:p>Existing law, the Consumers Legal Remedies Act, permits a consumer who suffers damage because of the use or employment by any person of a method, act, or practice declared to be unlawful, as specified, to bring an action against that person to recover, among other things, actual damages and punitive damages.</html:p>
<html:p>This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to subsequently enact legislating relating to consumer protection.</html:p>
