Existing law, the Nursing Practice Act, establishes the Board of Registered Nursing to license and regulate the practice of nursing. Existing law requires the board to establish a Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee to advise and make recommendations to the board on all matters relating to nurse practitioners, and specifies that the committee shall consist of 4 qualified nurse practitioners, 2 physicians and surgeons, and one public member.
This bill would instead specify that the committee shall consist of 5 qualified nurse practitioners, 3 physicians and surgeons, and 2 public members.
