Existing law requires the State Department of Education, on or before March 1, 2025, to provide a report to the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Governor, and the Legislature on the number and types of reports that school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools are required to annually submit. Existing law requires the report to include, among other things, the purpose of each report and recommendations for which reports can be consolidated, eliminated, or truncated, as provided.

This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would consolidate, truncate, or eliminate duplicative or obsolete reports in order to reduce the reporting burden of local educational agencies.
