Existing law establishes the Department of Justice under the direction and control of the Attorney General and requires the department to, among other things, maintain a continuing investigation on a statewide basis of investment frauds and business crimes.

This bill would require the Attorney General to investigate any payout of $5,000 or more received as a result of prediction market wagering if the event outcome was a matter of national security.
