Existing law requires a state prosecutor to investigate incidents of an officer-involved shooting resulting in the death of an unarmed civilian. Under existing law, the Attorney General is the state prosecutor unless otherwise specified or named.

This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to require that the Attorney General conduct an independent, transparent, and thorough investigation into any incident involving the shooting of a civilian by federal immigration enforcement agents.
