<html:p>Existing law requires the Department of General Services to ensure that all claims that have been approved by the department, and for which there exists no legally available appropriation, are submitted for legislative approval at least once each calendar year.</html:p>
<html:p>This bill would appropriate $672 to the Department of General Services, as specified, for the payment of claims accepted by the Government Claims Program.</html:p>
<html:p>This bill would declare that it is to take effect immediately as an urgency statute.</html:p>

<ns0:Preamble>The people of the State of California do enact as follows:</ns0:Preamble>

The sum of six hundred seventy-two dollars ($672) is hereby appropriated to the Department of General Services for the payment of claims accepted by the Government Claims Program in accordance with the schedule set forth in subdivision (b).

Pursuant to subdivision (a), claims accepted by the Department of General Services shall be paid in accordance with the following schedule:

<html:p>This act is an urgency statute necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety within the meaning of Article IV of the California Constitution and shall go into immediate effect. The facts constituting the necessity are:</html:p>
<html:p>In order to pay claims against the state and end hardship to claimants as quickly as possible, it is necessary that this bill go into immediate effect.</html:p>
