<html:p>Existing law establishes the Department of Parks under the control of the Director of Parks and Recreation. Existing law requires the director to, among other things, promote and regulate the use of the state park system in a manner that conserves the scenery, natural and historic resources, and wildlife in the individual units of the system for the enjoyment of future generations. Existing law requires the department, before any park or recreational area developmental plan is made, to prepare a land carrying capacity survey of the proposed park or recreational area.</html:p>
<html:p>This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the provisions regarding developmental plans.</html:p>

<html:p>Before any park or recreational area developmental plan is made, the department shall prepare a land carrying capacity survey of the proposed park or recreational area that includes such factors as soil, moisture, and natural cover.</html:p>
