<html:p>WHEREAS, The East Los Angeles Women’s Center proudly commemorates its 50th year of service, advocacy, and support for survivors of sexual violence and their families; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, The beginning of Sexual Assault Awareness Month calls upon communities to recognize the prevalence of sexual violence and renew a collective commitment to prevention, healing, and justice; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, April 1, 2026, marks the first annual Invincible Day, a day dedicated to honoring the strength, resilience, courage, and healing of sexual assault survivors; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, Invincible Day stands as a bold affirmation that survivors are not alone, and that compassion, advocacy, and accessible support services are essential to the path toward healing; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, April 1 represents a beginning, a reminder that reaching out for support is an act of courage, and survivors are encouraged to take a first step by contacting a 24-hour sexual assault hotline, connecting with trusted professionals, and accessing the resources available within their community; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, Invincible Day serves as a declaration of unity, bringing visibility where there has been shadow, voice where there has been silence, and validation where there has been doubt; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, Community members are invited to show solidarity by wearing red lipstick and hoop earrings as symbols of fierce, unapologetic support for survivors and a rejection of harmful narratives that attempt to justify sexual violence; and</html:p>

That the Assembly recognizes April 1, 2026, as the first annual INVINCIBLE DAY—A Day of Strength, A Day for Survivors, and encourage all members of the community to stand in solidarity with survivors, uplift their voices, and recommit to ending sexual violence through awareness, action, and compassion; and be it further
