<html:p>WHEREAS, On Friday, June 6, 2025, federal law enforcement officers were violently attacked while carrying out lawful immigration enforcement operations in the City of Los Angeles; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, Those officers were met with mobs of agitators who physically obstructed lawful actions and incited chaos in the streets; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, Governor Gavin Newsom has refused to restore order in the City of Los Angeles, choosing instead to place blame on federal actions and on his political opponents rather than take accountability for California’s failed policies; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, The violent resistance to lawful federal enforcement operations is a direct result of California’s radical sanctuary state policies which specifically restrict cooperation between state, local, and federal agencies on immigration enforcement, forcing federal authorities to conduct immigration enforcement operations directly within local communities, thereby increasing tensions and risks to public safety; and</html:p>

<html:p>WHEREAS, These policies have created dangerous gaps in communication and coordination between agencies, making it harder to plan safe operations and emboldening those who oppose immigration enforcement to interfere without consequence; and</html:p>

That the Legislature condemns the violent attacks on law enforcement officers in the City of Los Angeles and calls for an immediate end to policies that obstruct lawful immigration enforcement; and be it further
