                                <html:p>WHEREAS, California has a rich and successful agricultural history, one that has made the Golden State the nation’s agricultural leader for many years; and</html:p>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, The California Association of Future Farmers of America (California Association FFA) has been an integral part of this remarkable agricultural tradition since 1928; and</html:p>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, California’s reputation for agricultural leadership has been made possible through the hard work and dedication of farming and ranching families, educators, and agricultural professionals who consistently produce some of the world’s most abundant and diversified agricultural commodities; and </html:p>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, Future Farmers of America (FFA) is an outstanding student leadership organization that promotes excellence in agricultural education throughout California, and the California Association FFA stands as one of the largest state FFA associations in the nation, providing leadership development opportunities to more students than all but one state FFA association in the nation; and </html:p>

                </ns0:Whereas>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, The goals of FFA extend beyond classroom instruction and include the development of premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through hands-on learning in agriculture, science, technology, and business; and</html:p>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, Founded nearly a century ago, the California Association FFA has remained steadfast in its mission to positively impact students by preparing them for leadership roles in agriculture and beyond; and</html:p>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, The California Association FFA currently serves more than 108,000 student members in 366 chapters statewide, making it the largest youth leadership organization in California; and</html:p>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, The California Association FFA is committed to serving students from both urban and rural communities and has continually evolved its programs to reflect the diversity, innovation, and workforce needs of modern agriculture; and</html:p>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, In response to these changing needs, the California Association FFA has developed a comprehensive and integrated leadership development continuum for middle school and high school students across the state; and</html:p>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, The Sacramento Leadership Experience, developed and presented by the California Association FFA, serves as a capstone civic engagement and public service leadership conference within California Association FFA’s statewide leadership system; and </html:p>

                        <ns0:Content>
                                <html:p>WHEREAS, More than 85,000 students have participated in the California Association FFA State Leadership Conference, the largest career technical student organization conference in the state; and</html:p>

                        <ns0:Content>
                                <html:p>WHEREAS, Through supervised agricultural experience programs, entrepreneurship, and community service initiatives, California Association FFA members have logged more than 5,000,000 hours of work-based learning, generating an estimated $40,000,000 in economic and community service impact; and</html:p>
                        </ns0:Content>
                </ns0:Whereas>

                                <html:p>WHEREAS, Over the past two decades, growing student interest in agricultural careers has led the California Association FFA to collaborate with educators and postsecondary educational institutions to expand University of California- and California State University-approved agricultural education courses from 781 courses in 2007 to more than 1,600 courses today; and </html:p>

                </ns0:Whereas>

                        <ns0:Content>
                                <html:p>WHEREAS, The California Association FFA is supported by the California FFA Foundation, which enhances student opportunities through scholarships, leadership development programs, and partnerships with industry and community stakeholders; and</html:p>
