<html:p>Existing law, the California Emergency Services Act, establishes the Office of Emergency Services (OES) within the office of the Governor, and sets forth its powers and duties, including responsibility for addressing natural, technological, or manmade disasters and emergencies, including activities necessary to prevent, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of emergencies and disasters to people and property.</html:p>
<html:p>This bill would require OES, in consultation with relevant state and local agencies, to develop catastrophic plans, as described. </html:p>

(a)
<html:span class="EnSpace"/>
The Office of Emergency Services, in consultation with relevant state and local agencies, shall develop catastrophic plans.
</html:p>
<html:p>
(b)
<html:span class="EnSpace"/>
For purposes of this section, “catastrophic plans” include the following disaster response plans developed by the Office of Emergency Services or the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or both:

Northern California Catastrophic Flood Response Plan.
</html:p>
<html:p>
(2)
<html:span class="EnSpace"/>
Bay Area Earthquake Plan.
</html:p>
<html:p>
(3)
<html:span class="EnSpace"/>
California Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquake and Tsunami Response Plan.
</html:p>

<html:span class="EnSpace"/>
Southern California Catastrophic Earthquake Plan.
</html:p>
<html:p>

<html:span class="EnSpace"/>
Catastrophic Wildfires in the Wildland Urban Interface.
