                        <html:p>The Roberti-Z’berg-Harris Urban Open-Space and Recreation Program Act provides grants to cities, counties, and certain districts for recreational purposes, open-space purposes, or both, on the basis of population and need. The act requires property acquired or developed with the grant money to be used by the grant recipient only for the purpose for which the grant moneys were requested and prohibits any other use of the area except by a specific act of the Legislature.</html:p>
                        <html:p>The Nejedly-Hart State, Urban, and Coastal Park Bond Act of 1976 provides grants to cities, counties, and certain districts for acquisition, development, or restoration of real property for park, beach, recreational, and historical resources preservation purposes. The act requires property acquired or developed with the grant money to be used by the grant recipient only for the
                purpose for which the grant moneys were requested and prohibits any other use of the area except by a specific act of the Legislature.</html:p>
                        <html:p>This bill would provide that it is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would authorize the City of Cathedral City to remove from public recreational use, and use as a fire station, a portion of park property in the city acquired or improved with the grant moneys from the above acts, subject to the acquisition of replacement park property of equal or greater recreational value approved by the Department of Parks and Recreation, to be used for park purposes, and at no cost to the state.</html:p>

                <ns0:Preamble>The people of the State of California do enact as follows:</ns0:Preamble>

                                <html:p>It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would authorize the City of Cathedral City to remove from public recreational use, and use as a fire station, a portion of park property in the city acquired or improved with grant moneys from the Roberti-Z’berg-Harris Urban Open-Space and Recreation Program Act (Chapter 3.2 (commencing with Section 5620) of Division 5 of the Public Resources Code) and the Nejedly-Hart State, Urban, and Coastal Park Bond Act of 1976 (Chapter 1.68 (commencing with Section 5096.111) of Division 5 of the Public Resources Code), subject to the acquisition of replacement park property of equal or greater recreational value approved by the Department of Parks and Recreation, to be used for park purposes, and at no cost to the
